Name: Jacob
Gender: Male
DOB&D: 1998-Apr 2008
Color: Black with some white and a stubbed tail.
We were not too sure how old he really was, he came to us as a stray. But as he got older I called him, “My little old man. “
He had been hanging out at our house for a few days. When I saw an ad in the paper it advertised, “Missing, male cat. Black and white with a short tail.” Well, that sounded just like the one that was hanging around our place. So, I thought I had better feed him, so we could keep him around for the ones who had placed the ad.
He was a very friendly cat and I knew that from the first time I touched him. He was so thin. I could tell he had not been eating well to be that thin. I called the number that was in the paper and to my surprise their response was, “We found our cat!” Since they had their cat, I guess we now have a new member of the family.
Jacob roamed free and could come and go as he pleased. We didn’t seem to have a big threat as we do now with Coyotes and foxes. Tim would see him sitting down by the creek for hours relaxing and enjoying nature.
Jacob never did like the other stray cats that we started bringing here. He just tolerated them and kept his distance, until he became sick. Tonya and Gulf, two of the other strays befriended him and kept watch over him. We lost Jacob to renal failure.
