Our orange and white cat has the most beautiful eyes we have ever seen. They remind us of the waters of the Gulf of Mexico. So, we decided to name him Gulf. He purrs continuously which makes one think of the engines in an airplane with its motors running.
The task of trying to bring Gulf to his new home was an adventure, with him fighting us all the way. We finally succeeded at getting him in our vehicle, but we still had one more problem that needed to be considered. How were we to get in? We finally decided that our only way was to let Gulf out, for us to get in.
Different times while we were feeding some of the other strays, Gulf would be there. On one occasion while Gulf was there with the other strays, we decided to get him to the vet, so he could be neutered. That evening when it was time to pick him up, they recommended him to remain indoors for a few days. OH MY! That was like pushing the PANIC BUTTON. We were close to losing many of our window blinds that day. There was no way could we keep him in the house. We were finally able to get him into a pet carrier, so we could take him back to his old place and release him.
It took a week before he decided he would come back and visit with us. This visit was different. Gulf decided to stay and make our home his home.
Gulf is now such a gentle cat. He never starts trouble with any of the other cats. He loves people and can’t wait to greet them by rubbing their legs. One does not want to wear black when you visit for we guarantee they will no longer be black.
